Welcome Back for Quarter Two!
Dear Tiffany Families,
I hope that all of our students and their families enjoyed this two-week Fall Break. I know that I was able to spend a great deal of time with my family, which I am thankful for and was able to visit the beach twice with this incredible weather! We are excited to welcome our students back on Tuesday, October 10th and it will be a Minimum Day. Preschool will be on their regular schedule. As a refresher, here is the schedule for the week:
Monday 10/9 – NO SCHOOL
Tuesday 10/10 – School Resumes – Minimum Day
- Grade TK and K: 8:45 AM – 1:40 PM
- Grade 1-6: 8:45 AM-1:55 PM
- Preschool AM: 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM
- Preschool PM: 12:45 PM – 3:45 PM
Wednesday 10/11 and Thursday 10/12 – Regular Day
- Grade TK and K: 8:45 AM – 2:55 PM
- Grade 1-6: 8:45 AM – 3:10 PM
- Preschool AM: 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM
- Preschool PM: 12:45 PM – 3:45 PM
Friday 10/13 – Minimum Day
- Grade TK and K: 8:45 AM – 1:40 PM

We have a very busy Quarter ahead of us! Here is the information for the Week:
Reminder – Change to Traffic Pattern
As a reminder, some of our sidewalks were replaced and updated over the Fall Break. In addition, as shared previously, nearly all yellow curbs have now been painted red. Painting occurred at approximately 4pm on Friday. No parking will be permitted on any of the red curbs. Students who can be dropped off, should use the yellow curb near the office, exit the vehicle on the curb side, and walk on to campus. The car should then pull away so that the next vehicle can do the same.
For pick up, please make sure that your child knows where to meet you and if it is a drive through pick up, be sure they are paying attention so that they can get in the car as efficiently as possible.
If you need to park, please do so in a marked stall or on the street in a proper location. We understand that this has a major impact on our families, but our hope is that it will make it a safe and smooth experience for drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon.

SSC Meeting on Tuesday, October 10th at 3:30pm
Our next SSC Meeting will be Tuesday, October 10th at 3:30pm. We will meet in the MPR. Below are the minutes from the previous meeting as well as the agenda which also contains the link to join virtually.
Tiffany DAC/DELAC Representatives
Please take a moment to vote for our Tiffany DAC Representative. We are also in need of a DELAC Representative – the individual needs to be a parent of an English Learner. Meetings are once a month, on the second Tuesday from 12-2pm at the District Office. If you are interested, you can also write in your name into the link below.
District Training on Wednesday, October 11th – Parking Impacted
We will be hosting a District Training for Teachers on Wednesday, October 11th from 8am-3:00pm. This might impact parking in our lot and surrounding areas. I wanted to make sure that our community is aware.
Our Annual PTA Tiger Trek is Underway – Event on October 18th!
Our Annual Tiger Trek is underway and it is our main fundraiser for the year! With the support of this fundraiser, it allows our students to benefit from so many incredible activities during the school day (the most recent was the Mad Science Assembly), the community events (campout, Fall Carnival, etc.) and mini grants for our teachers. Since our PTA runs this event in house, all proceeds go right back to our community. The actual run will be on October 18th and we hope that our families will be able to join us! Thank you for your support!
Everyday Counts – Attendance Reminders
With the start of a new quarter and the changes to our parking lot traffic pattern, I would like to take a moment to remind our families about attendance. We are a late start school, which starts at 8:45am, however, that means that students are in their classrooms at 8:45am.
The last week before break, I noticed at 8:30am, there were about 100 1st through 6th grade students on the blacktop. We have approximately 550 students! The parking lot does not get busy until 8:35 and most cars do not arrive until 8:45am, which causes the major back up and frustrations with traffic. Students should already be in line by 8:40am. I challenge the students to start their morning routine 15 minutes earlier so that we can be to school on time. Just a reminder that our gates open for breakfast and the track at 8:10am – we encourage our families to take advantage of this opportunity.
Also keep in mind that students who have a 100+ degree temperature may not come to school and can return after they have been fever free for 24 hours without medication.
Again, here are tips for attendance to know what is excused and what is not:
- Please call the office to report any absences and the reason for the absence.
- Excused Absences: illness, doctor appointments for the student, military engagements (ex. ceremony, return from deployment), death of an immediate family member, etc.
- Unexcused Absences: appointments for other family members, out of town, vacations, etc.
- Independent Study: If you know ahead that your child might need to miss school (ex. family reunion), please contact your child’s teacher and our office to set up an independent study contract. Independent Study contracts are available for 3 or more days, but not more than 14 cumulative days in a school year. Independent Study Contracts should be requested at least one week in advance.
- Tardy: Students are considered tardy if they are not in class by 8:45am.
- COVID absences are cleared with a POSITIVE test result. Current guidelines require positive individuals to stay home for 5 days and mask through Day 10 on campus.

That is a wrap on Quarter 1! We want to wish all of our families, staff and students a wonderful Fall Break. Just a reminder that our school will be closed Monday, September 25th through Monday, October 9th. We will reopen on Tuesday, October 10th and it will be a Minimum Day for our TK-6th Grade students. Weekly Message for the Week of September 18th
Dear Tiffany Families,
I hope this email finds you well on this drizzly September Sunday. We are down to the final week of school until the end of Quarter 1! We will continue to be on Minimum Days for our TK-6th Grade students through the end of the quarter, which is Friday, September 22nd. Preschool will follow their regular schedule.
Last week, we had our PTA Scholastic Book Fair and the Dual Immersion Celebration for Dia de Independencia! Both events were incredible and I would like to thank all of our staff and volunteers who make these opportunities possible for our students!

Student Council Speeches and Elections Friday
We are so excited to have Mrs. Loyola leading our students for Student Council again this school year! We have many students running for office and the assembly to give their speeches will be on Friday at 9:15am. The students will be asked to take down their campaign posters on Thursday ahead of the assembly on Friday. The voting will take place immediately after the assembly and the results will be shared by the end of the day. Congratulations to all of the students who are running – no matter the outcome, you are all leaders!
LCFF Forms – Lunch Applications
Our school is a Title I School, which means we receive additional funding based on students who meet eligibility for Free/Reduced Lunch. We know that all students receive free meals at this time, but the way that Title I status is met is by our families filling out the LCFF Form to see if they meet eligibility. If you have filled one out last school year, you did not receive a new one this year. If you have not completed an application for your child/children yet and received one, your child’s teacher should have another one for you at your parent conference. Please take a moment to fill it out and return it.
Again, although breakfast and lunch is free for all this year, the completed form or application determines important funding allocations for our school which we have previously qualified for, which is Title I status. It is funding that we currently use to support having our counselor full time and a behavioralist here on campus.

Over the Summer, our school expanded by two classrooms to support the addition of Transitional Kindergarten on our campus for the 2023-24 School Year. Two modular classroom buildings were brought in and installed. Anytime construction occurs, certain areas of the campus have to be brought up to code. Last week, I was informed that our parking lot traffic pattern will be one of those areas that will need to be addressed before the construction can be signed off. The photo above is the ONLY LOADING/UNLOADING area that will now be on the campus effective Quarter 2. The remaining curbs as you enter and exit will all be RED, which means that no one will be able to park, load or unload in those areas.
The majority of the sidewalk to the left of this photo and all the way to the exit will also be taken out and replaced, to meet current ADA requirements. All of this work will be taking place over the two week break and should be completed by the time that students and staff return in October.
This will be a major shift in our parking lot and our families will need to plan accordingly. I want this to be on the radar of our families who come to school each day in a vehicle. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Finally, just a reminder that our last day of the quarter will be Friday, September 22nd. We will be on Fall Break from Monday, September 25th through October 9th. The students will return Tuesday, October 10th and it will be a Minimum Day.

I hope this email finds you well on this hot September weekend. We only have two more weeks of school until the end of Quarter 1! The time is flying by! We will be on Minimum Days for our TK-6th Grade students beginning Thursday, September 14th through the end of the quarter, which is Friday, September 22nd. Preschool will follow their regular schedule. Please be sure that whichever adult picks up your child knows that this schedule is coming. Unless children go to the YMCA, DASH or an after school program, we do not have after school care in our office. Thank you for your support. Here is the information for the week:

Save the Date for Sixth Grade El Pollo Grill Fundraiser
Our next restaurant fundraiser is at El Pollo Grill on Thursday, September 14th from 10 AM to 9 PM. The fundraiser is happening at BOTH locations. They will donate 25% of your total to our Sixth Graders to help offset the cost of camp.Below is an electronic flyer that El Pollo Grill prefers and paper copies are going home with students. Please do not pass out flyers in the restaurant or parking lot to random customers. If this occurs, EPG has informed us the fundraiser will be cancelled and all funds forfeited. They are a local company who has supported our school in the past, so we want to follow their request. Thank you for your support!

Best Attendance for the Month of August
Congratulations to Mrs. Loyola’s 5th grade class for having the best attendance for our upper grade students and to Sra. Sandoval’s 2nd grade class for having the best attendance for our primary students. Sra. Sandoval’s class won with the best attendance in the whole school for the month of August! Their attendance rate for the month of August was 98.11%! Congratulations! Who will be next? Will Sra. Sandoval’s class keep the title for September? We will see!

Parking Lot Expectations
Our campus opens at 8:10am for breakfast. We encourage our families to get here early – the parking lot is empty! It gets very busy at about 8:40am. Beat the rush, get here a little earlier and enjoy our beautiful campus outside. Thank you for your support.
If your child requires hand-to-hand pick up, please allow time to find parking and pick up your child. If you are stopped in the loading zone to wait for your child (yellow curb), you must stay in your vehicle and keep moving. All students must exit and enter the car from the curbside for safety reasons. Finally, please use the crosswalks at all times.
For your review, here are the traffic and parking lot expectations:
- Red Curbs – “as required under California Vehicle Code Section 21458(a)(1), a curb painted red shall indicate no stopping, standing, or parking whether the vehicle is attended or unattended.”
- Yellow curbs are for loading and unloading only – cars should not be parked and left unattended. If you are on a yellow curb, you should be in your vehicle to move as the traffic is moving.
- The left lane in the parking lot is for traffic to move through. Parking/stopping in the left lane blocks cars from being able to exit. Students should not exit or enter vehicles that are in the left lane.
- Use crosswalks for crossing the street and parking lot. When dropping students off, please be sure that they exit the vehicle on the right so that they get out directly onto the sidewalk closest to the school building.
- Follow traffic patterns and do not double park along parking spaces.
Thank you to those who are following our expectations in the parking lot.
Looking Ahead – Conferences for TK-6th
Parent Teacher Conferences are coming, September 14th – September 20th. Your child’s teacher should be reaching out to you soon, if they have not already, to schedule a conference. Our TK-6th Grade students will be on Minimum Days starting September 14th through September 20th. Friday, September 21st will be our final day of Quarter 1. We will be on Fall Break from Monday, September 25th through October 9th. The students will return Tuesday, October 10th and it will be a Minimum Day.

Weekly Message for the Week of August 28th
Dear Tiffany Families,
I wanted to take a moment to thank all those involved in making our Tiffany PTA Camp-Out a success! It was so great to see all of our families here and having such a great time – we likely had 350+ attendees for the movie portion and approximately 175 of those stayed the night! It filled my heart with joy to see all of our families having such a great time and our students were so happy. Thank you to Gaby Cortez, for leading the event, and for our PTA Executive Board and all of the volunteers for making it happen. We have the best PTA, staff and families at Tiffany!

Photo Make-up Day for Students on August 31st
The photographer will be back on Thursday, August 31st, to take photos of any students who missed the main picture day on August 17th.
Your child will be given a card home in their backpack with an individual photo key. About a week after their photo is taken, you will be able to view the photo online and order prints.
