Weekly Message for the Week of May 13th

Dear Tiffany Families,

I hope this email finds you well and Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate!  I wanted to take a moment to thank our families, students and our PTA for spoiling our staff for Staff Appreciation last week.  We really do have the best community here at Tiffany!

Here is the information for the week:

End of Year Testing Update

End of Year Testing is still underway for our 3-6th Grade students.  Most students are finished with their CAASPP testing, but they will now be moving into Local Measures (iReady and Lexile).  Our primary students have finished – congratulations!!  We are so very proud of the growth our students have made this year!  To help your child be ready for testing and finish strong, consider the following:

  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Fuel the body and brain with a health breakfast
  • Encourage your child with positive words and that these tests are just to show how much they have grown!
  • Our Tigers have what they need to succeed – We’ve GOT THIS!

Click below to view what days your child will have testing.  Your teachers will also share dates with you as well.

*Please note, most fifth graders took the CAST on Friday.  Makeup testing for those who were absent or need more time will be given that over the next few weeks.

Yearbooks On Sale Now

Registration for the 24/25 School Year is OPEN!  If you have a new, incoming student, for the 2024-25 school year, it is not too soon to get your child registered.  Our enrollment determines our staffing for the following year, so the sooner we know how many students to expect, the better idea we have for the staffing we will need to support their learning.

The entire process is online at www.cvesd.org.  Click HERE to go the registration page – you will find the information/documents you will need to fully register.  If you have any questions, please reach out to our office at 619-421-6300.

Parking Lot Safety

For your review, here are the traffic and parking lot expectations:

  • Red Curbs – “as required under California Vehicle Code Section 21458(a)(1), a curb painted red shall indicate no stopping, standing, or parking whether the vehicle is attended or unattended.”
  • The left lane in the parking lot is for traffic to move through.  Parking/stopping in the left lane blocks cars from being able to exit.  Students should not exit or enter vehicles that are in the left lane.
  • Use crosswalks for crossing the street and parking lot.  When dropping students off, please be sure that they exit the vehicle on the right so that they get out directly onto the sidewalk closest to the school building.
  • Follow traffic patterns and do not double park along parking spaces.
  • Right turn only out of our lot during arrival and dismissal.
  • Bus loading and unloading areas are for district vans and buses only

If you would like to volunteer in our parking lot, please let me know at crystal.sutton@cvesd.org.

Looking ahead, please note that our school will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday on Friday, May 24th and Monday, May 27th.

Here’s to a great week!

Take Care,

Dr. Sutton
