We are in the final five days of the quarter – it does not seem possible!  I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our families for your on going support and for sharing your students with us.  We are so grateful.

Thank you to our PTA and all of the volunteers who made this year’s Winter Gift Shoppe a success!  The students could not have been more excited to visit and buy items for their loved ones.  Thank you again.

Quarter 3 LEAD Club Registration Open NOW!

We are pleased to announce that the LEAD Clubs for Quarter 3 are now available for registration!  Please use the link below to sign up your child/children if you are interested.  The form, once completed, will automatically place you on a waiting list.  Priority is given to students who are unduplicated (free/reduce lunch, foster youth and unhoused).

Once you have registered, your child’s placement in the club will be confirmed with an email that says “congratulations.”  At that point, your child is welcome to attend.  You will receive an email for each individual club that you register for.

LEAD Clubs will begin Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Reminder – Traffic Safety – We Need Everyone’s Help

We continue to have issues around cars being parked and left unattended in the Red Fire Lanes and cars parked illegally in Handicap spaces/loading areas.  CVPD ticketed cars this past week who were violating these laws and will continue to do so.  We understand that students need to be dropped off on the Red curb, but the student should exit and the car should continue on their way to exit the parking lot.  Leaving cars unattended to drop off your children poses a safety hazard, as vehicles cannot safely enter or exit the parking lot.

Please remember that our gates open for breakfast and morning track at 8:10am.  Our parking lot is EMPTY at that time.  1st – 6th grade students can be dropped off at that time and our PreK, TK and K families are welcome to take advantage of this time as well.  Our younger students (PreK, TK, and K) need to be with an adult, however, they can walk the track and partake in breakfast too!

We also have had several cars drive the wrong way into the backside of the parking lot as well as try to exit through the entrance.  Please make sure to follow the traffic patterns so that everyone, including our students, are safe.  Here are some friendly reminders for our parking lot:

• Park cars in marked stalls or on the street
  • Cars should not be left double parked and blocking cars parked in spaces
  • Cars are not to be parked in handicap loading areas
  • Cars without handicap placards are not allowed to park in handicap spaces
• Permits are required to park on the street West of campus
• No parking on RED curbs
  • Do not leave your car unattended at red curbs.
• Use crosswalks
• Follow the traffic patterns within the parking lot
• Allow time for drop off and pick up

• Keep traffic moving

Cell phones may be brought to school but must be kept OFF in the student’s backpack or a safe location. Any cell phone used by a student during school hours will be confiscated and kept in the office until claimed by a parent only. Smartwatches should be set to “Schooltime” or messaging and notification settings should be disabled during school hours. If used during school time becomes a concern, the student will be asked to keep the watch at home. Portable video game consoles are not allowed on campus.   These items will be confiscated and kept in the office until claimed by a parent only. The school is not responsible for the loss of cell phones or other electronic devices brought to school.

Animal Safety and Clean Up

One of the wonderful things about our school is that we share grounds with Tiffany Park.  While there are no rules regarding animals at the park, there are for school campuses.  Just a friendly reminder that dogs are not allowed on our school campus.  If you do have your dog at the park, please help by picking up any “presents” they may leave.  Our families step in the piles that are left.  Thank you!

California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) and Hanover Survey Information

CVESD is committed to supporting our students, staff, and families! On October 15, 4th-6th grade families received a letter from Superintendent Dr. Reyes about the upcoming CHKS (5th grade) and Hanover (4th-6th grade) surveys.  In addition, 4th-6th Grade students received the permission slip from their teacher this past week. Your child’s participation helps us improve services! More info is available on the district website.  The school with the highest participation rate for the CHKS and Hanover Surveys will receive a special assembly!

Federal Survey Cards – Reminder

Yellow Federal Survey Cards were sent home student backpacks last week.  Thank you to everyone who has already returned them!  If you haven’t already, please be sure to return the form to your child’s teacher, signed and dated and completed if applicable. If not applicable to you, please mark not applicable and sign and date it and return it.

The most important information on the card is the physical work address (including the street number and zip code). Post Office Boxes cannot be accepted. It is very important that we have a form for every child.

Federal Survey Cards are not related to your personal taxes in any way. Federal property (residential and/or commercial) is not subject to State taxes. It is State taxes that fund our schools. The District is able to recover this lost Federal tax money through the Federal Survey forms. It is very important that we receive a completed Federal Survey Card for each child, especially those children whose parents are in the military/federal government, live in military housing, and/or work at a government facility (North Island, Balboa Naval Hospital, etc.).

Please take the time to sign and date (and complete if applicable) and return these forms immediately for the benefit of the students of Tiffany School.  If you do not want to fill out the form or it is not applicable to you, please write that on the form, sign + date it and return it to your child’s teacher. We appreciate your cooperation.
