Weekly Message for the Week of December 5th

Dear Tiffany Families,

I hope this message finds you well on the first weekend of December.  I cannot believe that the end of the quarter is 2 weeks away and that 2023 is going to be here in less than 1 month!  Here is the information for the week here at Tiffany:

Lost and Found Cart

Is your child cold in the morning and cannot find their jacket?  It is probably because it is at school in the lost and found cart!  Please be sure to take a peek at our cart to see if any of your child’s items are in there.  We will be packing it up on the last day before break and donating the items to a local shelter.  Thank you!

Quarter Two Awards Assembly

Earlier in November, we had our first award assembly since March of 2020.  We will be holding these awards quarterly here on out for the remainder of the year.  Our Quarter Two awards will be as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 6th:
    • 9:00 – 9:30 Grades 1/2
    • 9:45 – 10:15 Grades 5/6
  • Friday, December 9th
    • 9:00 – 9:30 Kinder
    • 9:45 – 10:15 Grades 3/4

If your child is getting an award, the notification will come from their teacher.  We look forward to having more of our students recognized here at school.

Student Absences, Tardies and Illness Protocols

Cold and flu season is here and if your child is sick, please keep them home.  Report the absence either by email to deborah.chapman@cvesd.org or by calling our office at 619-421-6300.  This was the case before COVID and continues to be the expectation.

Testing a child after having COVID like symptoms is still required to return, but results do not need to be submitted to the office any longer, unless they are positive.

If your child is exposed at school, please read those notifications carefully, as they contain all of the information that is needed related to the exposure.  Any COVID specific related questions can be asked at covtest4@cvesd.org.

Just a reminder that the late bell rings at 8:45am.  Students are welcome on campus as early at 8:15am to enjoy breakfast, walk laps, etc.  By leaving a little earlier and allowing extra time in the mornings, it helps with the flow of traffic and allows students to get to school on time.  Thank you for your support!

Traffic and Safety

For your review, here are the traffic and parking lot expectations:

  • Red Curbs – “as required under California Vehicle Code Section 21458(a)(1), a curb painted red shall indicate no stopping, standing, or parking whether the vehicle is attended or unattended.”
  • Yellow curbs are for loading and unloading only – cars should not be parked and left unattended.  If you are on a yellow curb, you should be in your vehicle to move as the traffic is moving.
  • The left lane in the parking lot is for traffic to move through.  Parking/stopping in the left lane blocks cars from being able to exit.  Students should not exit or enter vehicles that are in the left lane.
  • Use crosswalks for crossing the street and parking lot.  When dropping students off, please be sure that they exit the vehicle on the right so that they get out directly onto the sidewalk closest to the school building.
  • Follow traffic patterns and do not double park along parking spaces.

Upcoming Dates

December 19th – January 9th – No School for Winter Break

January 10th – Students Return for Quarter 3 – Minimum Day

January 16th – No School – Observance of MLK Day

Here’s to a great week!

Take Care,

Dr. Sutton
