What’s Happening at Tiffany: Last Week of School

Tiffany Computer and Hotspot Return

All student computers and hot spots must be returned to Tiffany either on Tuesday, June 15th form 11:30 – 1:30 or Wednesday, June 16th from 7:30-4:30.  Hotspots will no longer work after the month ends.

Residency

All K-5th grade families were sent an email from Power School asking to verify their residency.  All returning families must verify residency online this school year.  If you did not receive an email, please search your spam folder for an email from power school.

 

Final Two Days of School

Monday, June 14th, hybrid students will return for in-person instruction.  Tuesday, June 15th will be the last day of school and all students will be doing distance learning from 8:45- 11:30.

The last day of school for students is Tuesday, June 15th.  June 15th will be a minimum day and all instruction will take place online.  This day will follow the same format as our current Friday schedule.

Collecting Computers and Hot Spots

A reminder that we will be collecting all school laptop computers that were checked out by families on the dates below.  Please bring the computers and chargers to the front of the school where we will have staff ready to accept them and record that the computer was returned.

Please make plans to return any computers or hotspots at that time.  We are also accepting computers now.  Drop it by the office between 8:15 and 3:45.

Memorial Day

No school Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day.

Residency Verification

Residency Verification will take place online this year.  In the coming weeks, each family will receive an email with a link to verify residency.  No action is needed at this time if your child will be continuing at Tiffany.

Parent Support Liaison

The Tiffany School Site Council approved a Parent Support Liaison position for the 2021-2022 school year.  The main focus of this position is to better facilitate the conversation between parents and the school.  More details to come.

Social Worker / Counselor

This week the CVESD Board of Education approved funding a Social Worker / Counselor at all District schools for the 2021-2022 school year.  Tiffany will have a counselor on site 2.5 days per week to help support student social emotional needs.

What’s Happening at Tiffany: Week of May 3rd

Visual and Performing Arts

We are proud that we are able to offer Visual and Performing Arts at Tiffany.  This year, all classes are being offered through distance learning outside of in-person instruction.  Students will have three more weeks of VAPA this school year the weeks of May 10th, 24th, and June 1st.  Please use the link below to view the VAPA calendar.  Teachers will be able to provide the links to the classes.

COVID Testing

Viral and antibody testing will be offered to staff, students, families, and community throughout the week of May 3. Testing will be available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no testing taking place between 12 noon and 1 p.m. The dates and locations are:

  • Monday, May 3 @ Vista Square Elementary, Smith Avenue entrance near G Street, Chula Vista. Testing scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no testing taking place between 12 noon and 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 4 @ Olympic View Elementary, 1220 South Greensview Dr., Chula Vista, 91915. Testing scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no testing taking place between 12 noon and 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 5 @ Muraoka Elementary, 1644 Santa Alexia Ave., Chula Vista, 91913. Testing scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no testing taking place between 12 noon and 1 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 6 @ Lauderbach Elementary, 390 Palomar Street, Chula Vista, 91911. Testing scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no testing taking place between 12 noon and 1 p.m.
  • Friday, May 7 @ Education Services and Support Center (ESSC), 84 East J Street, Chula Vista, 91910. NOTE: testing hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on this date only, with no testing taking place between 12 noon and 1 p.m.

The antibody test consists of a light fingerprick; results as quickly as 15 minutes for those who stay around for their results. The viral test is the shallow nose swab test; results available within three-to-four business days. Learn more here: Viral Test for COVID-19

What’s Happening at Tiffany: Week of April 26th

TK and Kindergarten Registration is Open

If you have a child entering TK or kindergarten, please register them ASAP using the new online system.  It is only necessary to register new students.  We also still have a few spots in our Dual Immersion kindergarten class.

Is Your Child Returning to Tiffany Next School Year?

To help us best plan for the 2021-2022 school year, please email nicola.coghill@cvesd.org if your child is currently enrolled in grades K-5 and you DO NOT plan on having your child attend Tiffany next school year.  Our hope is that we will be returning to full time in-person instruction next school year.  CVESD may be offering a distance learning option for the 2021-2022 school year if there is parent interest.  Look for a survey early next month.
