What’s Happening at Tiffany: Week of April 19th

Welcoming Students Back

The Tiffany staff is so happy to see our students back in class this week. All in all, it was a smooth transition. Thank you to our families for following and promoting our safety guidelines.

Seeking Parent Liaison

In the coming weeks we will be posting for a Parent Community Liaison to help Tiffany Elementary increase parent engagement, promote school programs and our focus, and build relationships with families.  This position will start at 4 hours per week.  we are seeking a candidate that is fluent in English and Spanish.  Please look for the posting on cvesd.org if you are interested.

COVID-19 Testing at Tiffany

Last week you should have received (through email and/or text message) information on how to register for your child to get tested for COVID-19 at our school site.  If you have misplaced the email or link, another will be sent to you on Friday, April 16th around 11:00 AM.   You will not need to make an appointment for testing at our school sites.  Our schools will provide on-demand testing, which means that we are accepting “walk-ins”—no appointments are necessary. Here is important information on the CVESD COVID-19 Testing Program:

  • Testing will occur at TiffanyElementary School campus on the following days: April 29th , May 13th & 27th, and June 10th
  • On these days, testing will occur from 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with no testing from 12:45 – 1:15 due to staff lunch times.
  • If your student is experiencing symptoms, we highly recommend getting a PCR test at a free County facility or with a medical provider, and not reporting to the school for the antigen test. Unfortunately, the antigen tests used by CVESD cannot be used for return to work or school, per the County’s Symptom Decision Tree. The antigen testing program is for surveillance purposes, in order to quickly determine if individuals are positive and remove such individuals and their close contacts from campus as soon as possible. Contact our school health office for more information or discuss your child’s symptoms.
  • At this time, we can only test staff and CVESD students. No family members are able test at this time.
  • You do not need to be with your child in order for your child to test under our program; however, if your child walks up to the testing location, we will not be able to test them unless you have signed the on-line consent form at the link you are provided. We highly recommend that you accompany your child to the testing location.
  • Links that are sent to you are personalized for your specific student and shouldn’t be shared with others.
  • If you have trouble registering/providing consent for your child through the link, please call the district office at (619) 425-9600 and speak to Sherry Stone at ext. 1327 or Theresa Fletcher at ext. 1027 or visit the testing staff on-site at our school and they will be able to help register and test your child during your visit.
  • Because we are not taking appointments, we know there will be long lines before and after school. Please take this into account when planning the time have your child tested.   Please be patient with the testing team and listen carefully to their instructions.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus on our campus.

As part of our efforts to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, our District will offer viral and antibody testing the week of April 5 to staff, students, their families, and community. This is the period after spring break, and before the start of hybrid instruction on April 12. Testing will be available 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no testing taking place between 12 noon and 1 p.m. The dates and locations are:

  • Monday, April 5 @ Vista Square Elementary, 540 G Street, Chula Vista, 91910.

The antibody test consists of a light fingerprick; results as quickly as 15 minutes for those who stay around for their results. The viral test is the shallow nose swab test; results available within three-to-four business days. Learn more here: Viral Test for COVID-19

Testing is voluntary. Participants have the option of only doing one of the tests or both, and they are offered at no cost (covered through health insurance or reimbursable to testing provider Kahala Biosciences under the CARES Act for those who do not have insurance). Per requests, immediate family/household members are also eligible to participate. To schedule an appointment, please click here or cut and paste the following into your web browser: https://kahalabiosciences.com/cvesd-safe/

Thanks again for your support of CVESD Safe!, our voluntary testing and tracing program. Look for emails regarding additional testing opportunities in subsequent weeks as well.

Hybrid Cohort Lists Posted at 4:30

Tiffany Families,

The Tiffany Office will post hybrid learning cohort lists on the front office window today, March 26th, starting at 4:30 pm.  We want to make sure that all families are aware of their child’s assigned cohort so that they have as much time as possible to plan.  This list will not contain the name of the teacher that your child will have starting on April 12th.  We will be communicating teacher names the week of April 5th.  We will be unable to accommodate any changes at this time.

If you do have questions or concerns or if you see an error in the assigned cohort, please email the Tiffany Principal at jonathan.morello@cvesd.org.

Please remember that you must wear a mask and practice social distancing while on campus.

Also, please remember that there is a drive through PTA event, “Watch Me Grow” this afternoon from 4:30-5:30.

We hope that you all have a fantastic Spring Break and we look forward to seeing our students online the week of April 5th and then in person starting on April 12th.

Thank you,

Jonathan Morello

Tiffany Principal
